Jomo Kenyatta and the Spirit of Harambee

Once, in the beautiful highlands of Kenya, there was a leader named Jomo Kenyatta. He loved the rich red soil, the tall green trees, and the wonderful animals of his homeland. But he loved the people of Kenya most of all. During that time, Kenya was ruled by outsiders who took the best land for themselves. Jomo knew this was wrong, so he used his powerful voice to bring people together.

He taught his people a special word: 'Harambee.' In Swahili, Harambee means 'Let us pull together!' Jomo told everyone that if they all worked together, they could build a free and strong nation. He faced many challenges and was even put in prison, but he never gave up. Finally, Kenya became free, and Jomo Kenyatta became its very first President. He asked everyone to continue the spirit of Harambee by building schools, hospitals, and roads together. Jomo Kenyatta teaches us that teamwork is the secret to doing great things.
