He hid in the dense forests of the Vosges mountains and helped create the very first 'maquis'—a secret group of brave fighters called the Resistance. Addi was incredibly strong, smart, and courageous. He protected the local villagers and helped many people escape danger. The enemies called him the 'Black Terrorist' because they were so afraid of him, but to the people he saved, he was a shining hero of freedom. Addi Bâ's courage reminds us to always stand up for what is right, even when it is very dangerous.
