Tony Elumelu, a highly successful Nigerian economist and investor, believes that the private sector holds the key to developing Africa. He created a philosophy called 'Africapitalism,' which means that investing in African businesses and people is the best way to create social wealth. Through the Tony Elumelu Foundation, he pledged $100 million to find, train, and fund 10,000 young African entrepreneurs over 10 years. By giving young business owners the capital and skills they need, he is helping create millions of jobs across all 54 African countries.
